GT series with a T25 based housing running an external wastegate?
Wasn't sure whether to put this in the fab forum or fi. Guess I will do both, hehe
I was just wondering, those out there with a GT25, 28, etc. with a T25 based housing running an external gate, what you did with the flapper? Did you tack it shut to the housing or physically remove the arm with the flapper and weld a patch over it? Thanks.

i did a gt28-35 externally gated. i just welded the internal gate flapper thingy to the turbo to seal the hole it was covering up, ditched the rest of the stuff, and bolted on a tial. worked great.
You can use a steel bracket that attaches to the flapper arm and bolts under one of the turbine housing to center section bolts. It works well and you don't have to permanently modify your housing.
mr john, did you leave the "rod" in that goes from the outside of the housing to the inside?
Never thought about a bracket. I guess if I ever think I will sell the turbo the bracket would be a good choice. Thanks.
