hey how hard is it to take out the whole A/C system, is there any write up on it? i dont use it in the summer anyway and the mani i bought i dont think is a/c compatible... does it actually free up hp or is that all bull? thanks
The only hard part is where the lines go into the firewall. The stuff under the dash is a lot harder to get than the engine bay stuff, like the compressor, condenser, dryer and the hard lines. Removing those items is pretty straight-forward, just be sure to have the lines purged safely before you do it. You'll also need a new belt, so keep that in mind....
As far as freeing up power....not really. The AC only uses power when it's on, other than the minor drag of the pulley and extra belt mass. It does however free up lots of space and drops weight.

the easiest way to about removing something is to remove it....
look at it on the car, and figure out what is part of the system and what is not, take off the stuff that is part of it, and dont take off the stuff that is not....
for thought

It's not very hard to take out. I took everything out so free up space and for the fact that I don't use it. It frees up a LOT of space under the hood. You get better flow to your radiator, also. If you want a manual that will help(I doubt you'll need it), I found some manuals on hondahookup.com.

I guess in PA you guys dont need AC but here in Texas i cant imagine why anyone would want to do this unless it were to be a race only vehicle. Plus once you remove your AC if you ever intend on selling the vehicle, good luck is all i can say.
pointless unless its a race only.

well it gets pretty hot here in the summer so 90+, but i dont usually do a lot of driving in the summer and also my freon is out and imma to cheap to get more, and i prefer all my windows and sunroof open to air conditioning, and im cheap too so i dont wana loose the mpg with the ac on lol
dont do it for that reason, fill the lines back up, it will be less than 50 bucks....
you will be thanking me, im the same way with the windows, but there are the days where that isnt enough....esp bc my car is black leather....

ok then...i just didnt want you to sweat for no reason....maybe you can redirect the boost pressure from the turbo to your vents....but make sure to run it through the intercooler first, and then you will have ac again
yay....
yay....
ok first things first.. u need to drain ur freon.. open up those relieve valves but wear gogles at all times... and some rags..
then u need to un bolt hte lines fromt eh compressor (which is undreneith ethe alternator... afte rhtat then u can remove the hard lines.. and thats wher im at righ tnow
