my radiator hoses wont hook up to B16a2
ive got a b16a2 swap but the hoses off my stock engine are to small for the b16 and the b16 hoses are a little to big for the stock radiator. Ill be calling O'rileys today to see if they make a reducer from one hose to the other but any other ideas would be great. thanks in advance.
I used a 94 del sol DOHC VTEC upper hose for my swap, had to use 2 hose clamps on the radiator side because the dohc hoses are larger than the nipple on the radiator, I usually apply a bit of gasket sealer around the fitting before sliding the hose on for added security. As for the lower hose I used the stk sohc radiator hose, my bottom end is off of an ls so my lower hose may be different. But the top will definatly work, i have a b16 head.
ok, you guys have three options:
1) buy a reducer and use the B-series hoses(I run gsr hoses in my ek w/gsr swap)
2) buy a radiator for a b-series civic (delsol or 99-00 si), you can also call a radiator shop and have one made. this is what I did.
3) be getto and use hose clamps to clamp the **** out of the B-series hoses on the d-series radiator. I did this at first and it will leak over time.
I recommend you buy a radiator which can keep up with the needs of the engine, there is a reason why the d-series rad. is smaller.

I have a stk sohc vtec radiator in my 93 sol running an ls/vtec and Si tranny. I have a huge evo front mount IC and have never had over heating problems. I'm located in South Carolina so I may have problems running in Fla during hot summer days but even on 90 + deg days here, she runs right at 170 deg.

Option 4:
Use your stock hoses. Heat the end of the hose a little and lube the part of the rad that it attaches to. Many people on here have done it with no problems. And BTW, the D series rad is completely reliable to over 200whp. I researched the **** out of this for my swap. (I'll be getting a dual core rad when I go FI, but will keep the D rad until then.)
