Ok so my old Pioneer deck has kicked the bucket, aka Died. I just bought a JVC unit off my cousin for 50 dollars , its worth like 200 bucks, he hooked me up.

So this is the problem.. My friend and I installed the deck , wired up everything the right way,the Dimmer, front left and front right speakers work fine..

But the rear's arent working...
we tested to see if the speakers were dead by hooking up a radio directly to the rear speakers..they worked and we tested to see if the rear speaker wires coming out of the JVC stereo deck were working... they work also

So this means that the wiring or harness has a problem? but all the wires were fine before my pioneer radio died..

Does anyone have the wiring diagram? or something..? I really dont want to take this problem to a radio installation place they wanted to charge me 70 dollars for installation..

i dont know what to do... its like midnight and i need sleep , so, im sorry if this post doesnt make sense

 

you may have yanked the wires loose while changing out the headunits....

just follow the wires out from the connector to the deck as far as you can...make sure all the connections are ok...

if you have an ohmmeter test continuity from the deck connector to the speakers...

 

k got it working now.. there was this weird black mystery box in the trunk, its like 3x5 inches big. all the speaker wires were hooked up to it.. by a harness.. then out the harness into the speakers..


Box = removed . splice wires straight to speakers , problem solved =p

 

probably a crossover...you should look into getting it to work, it directs different frequencies to each speaker, you can tune your speakers to sound pretty nice with one of those, depending on its quality.....

 

and it might be easy to get it working if it's just missing a remote power on wire from your new deck.

Thats probably your acoustic feedback system box that comes stock in 5th gens. Some aftermarket decks work with it there and some don't.

Apparently your old deck worked with it and your new one doesn't which is why you had to remove it.

 

Hook up the Blue(remote/antenna) wire and your rear speakers should start working just fine

 

I had the same problem. I went to a JVC unit. I ended up just wiring the speakers straight because I got tired of not having rear sound and couldn't figure out the problem.

thats exactly what it is, my pioneer didn't work with it. the afs is a honda propritory that works in conjuntion with the factory head unit to prevent distortion, so i dont know how it worked with your old one... but i guess it doesn't really matter
