Ok I have a Comptech exhaust and I was wondering if I got a test pipe(already know about the CEL) will my car be really loud?

 

it will be a tad bit louder and somwhat deeper. you can buy an o2 simulator, or make one for that fact, to eliminate the CEL. Give it a try.

it gets really loud, i personally think its very annoying. and it smells more too. Your Vtec is gonna rip very loud also.

By test pipe, he is referring to replacing the catalytic convertor with a test pipe.. not replacing the exhaust with a straight pipe. it won't be much louder, a little deeper, slightly louder, and i had one on my car with the old engine and experianced no awful smells like everyone says.

 

No, a plain test pipe will be a lot louder. My friend has one on his Teg w/ a Greddy Evo and you can hear it easily from 4 blocks away. It doesnt sound bad, but I think it might get annoying driving in there after a while. His idle is also really loud.

 

You will be louder. When i took off the cats on my SS and just ran straight pipes it got a HELL of a lot louder. Gotta love it tho.. People can hear me comming from 3 blocks away even if i'm at 2K rpm.

 

It'll be so loud you'll probably get a lot of unwanted attention, if you catch my drift...

 

If you get the test pipe and it's too loud try getting a used Type R muffler. It will still make good power and it will be quieter.
