Questions about NITROUS.....
I have a 1992 Accord LX with 92xxx miles on it. Im planning to install a nitrous kit but i want to do it the right way. I think im going to buy the entire system (venom VCN) instead of just having it button operated. Of course ill have my a/f gauge handy also.
However, i wanted to know if, other than installing the kit right, should i upgrade any parts in my engine? Would it have a VERY negative effect? The car will be daily driven and i probably won't abuse the nitrous. what things should be looked out for?
Any help appreciated.

You should not need to do any internal upgrades if you run a small shot. 92 octane and colder plugs should be the first two things to keep in mind. I would go with a window switch to control the activation of nitrous at certain rpm levels.
My 98 Accord has 149,000 miles on it and is daily driven with a dry 55 shot. I see no reason why nitrous would severly damage your engine as long as:
1) the motor is strong now
2) the nitrous is set up with the proper precautions (window switch, plugs, premium gas, etc)
3) you don't run a massive shot. 75hp at the absolute highest.
Manual I assume?
Have fun, good luck, and be prepared to fork out some cash for bottle fills.....they don't last as long as you might expect

2) I plan to have have the right set up
3) I plan to go 60 at the most
yes its manual
gas is getting cheaper...kinda.
Bottle fills cant be that bad....

anywhere from $35-45 a bottle..for a 15lb bottle that is. usin 150 shot, i can get 2 full 1/4 runs and maybe 2 0-60's. when we were usin a 100 shot on our 5.0, i believe we could get 5 runs out of a bottle b4 we had to refill.
most definetly though, research your spark plugs. NOS reccomends using NGK plugs. i belive the kits like venom have safety controls so if the bottle pressure drops or lose fuel pressure, it shuts off, so no worries about buying any other safety electronics.
now, im not sure about the venom kits, but the psi of the nitrous bottle is optimal around 1000. to get that, you either have to warm the bottle yourself or buy a bottle warmer. i dont knwo if the electronic kits have done away w/that need or not.
also, if you dont plan on going over 60 hp.. throw away the jets that are high than 60. nitrous is addictive. its too easy to get more power..just change the jets (least thats what you do in the plate syatems.
the lil 5.0 i mentioned earlier loved 100 shots but it died at 150
(kinked fuel line didnt help either).

get a wetkit instead of a dry kit, the gas spreads more even and your cylinder one will love you for that.
colder plugs, 2 steps is good enough.
you can mess around the timing also, but the thing is, if you retard it too much, the motor just kinda limping when you are not spraying.
Narrow band AF guage(aem af guage is wideband but it cost a fortune) is pretty much useless, have it tuned with a vafc or emanage.
i think Zex's kit have a computerized cutoff circuit, which automatically cut off the spray if your car is not running right. I think that's it but i never spray before so don't ask.

IMO venom sells overpriced BS. thier basic kit is basically a Zex dry kit but with a cool looking interface.
that AF guage better be for wideband o2. the autometer AF guages are useless.
i ran NX wet 75shot for about 2 yrs and it worked flawlessly. NX > *

agreed as well on the af guages, and venom!
