Cast iron exhaust maniold weldable??
if i remember correctly, cast iron is not able to be welded/very hard to be welded. its been about 2 years since i've had to worry about cast iron welding when i was in the rebuild process of my stang.

CAST IRON CAN BE WELDED BUT IN ONE OF TWO WAYS YOU CAN DO IT THE CHEAP WAY and do what they call braze it it's welding but probally not gonna hold to well or you could use silver solder on it that is a tig welding rod made out of silver my grandfather welded my manifold with that **** still holding well
In order to properly weld cast iron it must be heated to almost cherry red, usinhg a special welding rod, i believe high nickel content. The problem with cast iron is that when you weld it at room temperature, residual strees is welded into the part. Later under normal service it will crack again.
Go to the junk yard and get a manifold.

i haven't had to worry about cast iron welding yet, i just stay away from it, but from what i hear the fumes are toxic, more so than normal welding. i would probably just braze it and see if it works, you'll know if it doesn't.
but yea go to a junkyard and get a new one, or get a $50 ebay header!
