cracked exhaust manifold- affect performance?

cracked exhaust manifold- affect performance?
I have a 97 Civic. The exhaust manifold has a small crack making it a little loud when pushed hard. Was wondering if this would slow my car down or mess up MPG. I have been getting crappy mileage. Anyone know???
