what year b16
i am in the market for a motor swap thinking of b16a2. my question is how do i tell what year it is? i have a 94 hb dx and i know the motor has to be same year as car or newer. also has ne one get a motor from hmo? thinking of getting the motor from hmo.
HMO is a great place to get your motor. Great prices, great products, and great customer service. Now with the b16 thing. With american motors each generation has a number after it. First generation b16 would be b16a1, second would be b16a2, and third would be b16a3. But I'm sure you know this?! But I'm not sure how to tell what year the motor is if it is jdm?
I've never heard that before? I pretty sure as long as you get a second generation b16 (b16a2 - 92-95), that it doesn't matter what year the motor is.

Troo that. I always see people calling the 92+ B16A the "B16A2." When i see that I instantly think USDM 99-00 Civic Si. Putting a number on the end of a Honda engine code means it's an export model (non-JDM). You guys should know this...

Hey Katman,
how do you tell what year an h22a motor is? Oh yeah, and I'm sorry about the generation thing. for some reason I always forget that the 99-00 si has the b16A2 in it. And yes I know I am a dumbass!

Not sure, I'm not an H22 guru, but probably the same way as a B-series.
All good on the dumbass thing.....lol
