Default will a obd2 dizzy work on a obd1?

i've searchd and asked people and shops and no one can give me an answer that is 100% certain. I'm swaping a built d16z6 (obd1) in for my d16y8. And the z6 has no distrubator/plugs/wires. I'm going to run a chipped p28 ecu with a obd2 to obd1 conversion harness so I "believe" I can use the obd2a distrubator on my obd1 motor. I know I can use the same plugs and wires but the dist., I'm not too sure if it will work.

I'm swapping this in next weekend or the weekend after depending on how quickly I get my answer.

Nope, unless you rewire it.

I'm 100 percent sure you can use your obd2 dizzy into your d16z6 engine. As long as your car is obd2 then its all good. No wire cutting or anything. I use a obd1 on my d16y8 engine so it'll work.

Its just plug and play. All you need to run the p28 ecu is the obd2 to obd1 harness. Thats all. The y8 is the same thing as a z6. Just that a y8 have a little more power. Like I said if your car have obd2 harness then use the obd2 dizzy. Simple.

You have an obd2 car, right? I'm guessing you are since you are ek_chris. Ek are obd2. If so use the obd2 dizzy with your obd2 engine harness. Then only thing I can think of that need wiring is probably the vtec wire. I don't understand why you have to rewire you obd2 dizzy when your car is already obd2.

why would the vtec need wiring when it's obd1 and so is the ecu?

Well if your car was an ex or hx you wouldn't need to wire your vtec but if it is a dx, lx, or cx you will need to wire the vtec from the vtec solenoid to your ecu cause it wont have it on the engine harness. If you car is an ex or hx you don't need to worry about it.
