How bad is this turbo kit???

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...%3AIT

I tried to do a search but the search is temperarily down.

It will be put on a 93 Civic EX with 150k on the motor. The motor still runs like new. Were the second owners and the first ones took care of it really well.

ALso with that kind of kit how the heck would you regulate how much boost there is?

I don't know anything about a T25, but I would assume that it has an internal wastegate (how you'd control the boost levels) as there is no place that I can see for an external wastegate on that manifold.

That's far from a complete kit, and I'd stay away from it if it's your first time and you're anywhere near strapped for cash to buy that. You'll still need engine management, charge piping, and an intercooler on top of that stuff, as well as tuning time, and you'll probally end up blowing your SOHC sooner or later.

How nexessary is the IC... It would just be fun to make my wifes car a little peppier besides what is done to it. Right now it has a homemade intake/ZC Header (has bigger ports then the Z6 one)/and a 2.25" exhaust.

If I can run like 5lbs of boost on the kit thats about all were looking for. But we will prob save some money and do it right one day.

i know a T25 is a DSM turbo from a newer eclipse, the only thing bad i hear about them is they spool up very quick and run hot

they have an internal wastegate i just forget what they are set for ( i think its 11psi) but can be changed and i dont know how much they can handle but ur stock motor wont handle more than 11 expecialy with those miles, and even 11 psi is pushing it

with that turbo kit expect to spend quite a bit more money on the inercooler, inercooler piping, bov, fmu, and tunning for that motor cuz its got a good amount of miles on it

ahahah...lol. my bro bought one just like it and i have it pn my sol...the t25 boost ay 6psi stock and then lose boost due to the internal wastegate about .5 to 1 psi. the kit dont come with everything and the expletive up thing is that the turbo flange are not correct. they give you a t3 flange instead and it dont fit the turbo.. thats why i had to customize the f;amge..i would say dont buy because its cheap, the quilty sucks...but brand new t25...t25 is a eclipse stock turbo..pretty small...the only thing ill say is the flange are incorrect.

For one, there is more than just one T25, they are not all created equal. For two, if you buy anything from SSautocrap, ensure you take the exhaust mani to a shop and have it underbraced. I know two guys who run their mani's just to prove a point after the bad rep they got and they have worked out well for them, they just HAVE to be underbraced or they will crack at the flange. Other than that, it is not a complete kit so have some more cash for the rest of the parts you will need.

If you need to ask "how bad is this kit" I think you've already answered your own question.

Incomplete kit like that, your asking for more headaches than you can throw an advil at. Your better off saving your pennies and getting a complete kit to eliminate your frustrations.
