Angled feeler gauge for valve adjustment?
Do people find it best to use an angled feeler gauge for valve adjustments?
If so, can anyone recommend a good one? I am having problems finding an angled feeler gauge.
Also, comments on this tool:

It looks like the SnapOn tool, but much much cheaper. Guessing it should work fine.
Thanks! :-)

I use the same one.
It works excellent!
It is only $12.00 on Snap-On's website.

I wonder if this might help folks out, especially ones worried about how the proper clearance "feels:"

For ten bucks, I'd try it. I bought the Snap-On for like $65 and then got bent over for another $12 for shipping.
Also, go to Sears and get this:

Be careful extracting the leaf because it will bend it you don't pull it straight out.

pat, does that one have the correct clearances we'd need?
I am one of those people who always second guesses the "feel" of it..

Looks to be English instead of metric, so that's what, 0.00787 inches? Not sure if it goes that low. It just says "fine for the 0.016 to 0.018" Volvo clearance
Lemme poke around on Google.

That's the exact one I was referring to in my previous post.
It works like a charm.

wow! mstewar, great find for the jam nut tool! i paid $45 for mine plus shipping. the sad thing was the snap on version was only 10$ more. for $10 i'd get that tool with a quicknes!
I use metric 12" long Sanp-On feeler gauges. The metric ones are hard to find...my Snap-On dealer had to special order them for me, which took 8 weeks. I like my valve lash adjustments to be perfect. When the spec says 0.17 mm, the metric ones are exactly 0.17 mm, not 0.168 or 0.175 like a primarily imperial gauge.
