yea, sounds like you may need a whole new immobilizer assembly. Here's how it works: the immoblizer will only work with the keys that are programmed to give it the code it wants. Without the red learning key, theres no way to know what the code is. Also, the ECU will only look for the code given by its assigned immobilizer unit, so in effect, the ecu and the immobilizer are a set. From what I've read, you need a new immobilizer unit with new keys, the stealership will recut your keys to your locks, then they will reprogram your ecu to take the new codes from the new immobilizer unit. hope this helps

I dont know how many times this is going to be asked but by losing all your keys you do not need to purchase a whole new unit. If the dealership wants to be nice they can use a scan tool to program and then get the new keys to work for your car.

I know dealerships are bad but I really cant believe you guys pay this much for a key. Go in and tell them that you know keys dont cost that much and you dont need to replace everything to get new keys made.
Or you could just at least walk in with a bottle of lube for when you are paying $100 for a key.

damn it, im trying to see if this guy i know that works there can get me a deal. right now im pretty much s.o.l. when i bought my car i didnt get a red key and only got one key and i lost that at a party, i called a locksmith and using my v.i.n. they gave me a code that i needed but they didnt have the technology to program the key. the stealership wants to charge me around $600 for everything all together. so far ive been without my ride for 3 weeks now so i really need a key in a bad way.
just got off the phone with the dealership and they said there was absoultely no way around the immobilizer if i dont have the red key

i've been trying to but okc isnt to big and there arent to many locksmiths around here that have the capabillity to make my key. one place i found got the code i guess i would need, not sure but they said it was the code i needed but that they didnt have the technology to program my key, honda on the other hand said there was no way to get a new code and this and that and i have to get everything replaced and pay labor. so im just trying to find out the truth and how to get a better deal
oklahoma city, oklahoma. i finally got a hold of a guy in service and he said they are bullshitting me and that the only way i need a new immobilizer is if my old one were broken. he said he can get on honda and get all the info that he would need to program it through the website. said he wouldnt need a scan tool and the other people insisted i would need a new immobilzer unit so im hoping he is right. the others sweared up and down that i would have to get a new one so i just hope this guy is right and ill give him some cash or something since he was the only person that was honest with me
