Removed Cat heat shield... Still hearing rattling noise
As said above I removed my heatshield today and the noise isn't as bad but at exactly 3,600 rpms i still hear a metal rattle. sounds like a hamster in a hamster wheel.
any other things know to rattle over time?
and I did search, but if I for some reason missed a previous post all i need is a link. thanks.

I had a rattle at about 3200 rpms for a long time. I removed all heat shields and even replaced the mid-pipe but it still rattled. It actually was the lower portion of my stock exhaust manifold (A-Pipe). When I replaced that the rattle was gone.
GSR? Do you still have the stock exhaust manifold? Those were known to rattle.
That's right, it was the A pipe, not the manifold....
Is this a stock cat, or aftermarket? The guts of an aftermarket cat could be coming apart inside, if you have one.

its the bottom half of the headers that connects to the frame or whatever.. either no nuts on there or just loose.. and it rattles.. mine did too.
GSR, stock exhaust mani, stock cat.
is there a way to fix the mani rattle without replacing it?
it's quite anoying.

Nope, you gotta replace it. The problem with them is that they're an inner and outter tube construction. The welds on the inner tube crack and you get the rattle. Was very common. But hey, you were gonna buy a header anyway, right?
