i have a 1997 honda civic d16y7 everytime i hit aat around 2700 rpms i get this rattling noise dont know what it is please help i dont know if its major

 

where do you think the the rattle is coming from? ie around glove box area, shifter, behind the dash.

 

most likely exhaust related, ive noticed that when exhaust bolts are loosening (it happened to me before) at certain rpms that create a specific vibration you can hear some rattling and then not hear it at other rpms, wierd but true, but also if you want help with this prob your going to have to tell us where the rattling sounds like its coming from

 

Heat Shield on cat, or Heat Shield on the exhaust

 

i had someone look at it and they said its my cat converternot the heat shield its coming from the inside of cat converter can that be

 

its possible yoll have to get under and see.

 

It is probably not the insides of the cat. take a wrench and hit lightly around the cat you should hear the sound that is bothering you. If it is the shield just take some coat hanger and wrap around the spot that is making the noise.

Ford's are famous for the cat shield rattling.
