I would spend a little more and get an ITR diff. You can find them used for a good price.

If you already tried searching, then you didn't do a very good job. There are a lot of threads about how the phantom grip is junk, and pretty much anything else is better, at least regarding their non-extreme ones.

Read the links that mjc1055 gave you. They are very good. Plus you can also search for "phantom" yourself here and find tons more.

To answer your question, no, it is not a true limited slip differential. It is basically two metal plates that spring outward to lock the spider gears. They don't do a very good job on turns, but in my opinion, for a very cheap LSD-like effect, it's not bad (IF, it is installed correctly).

You have to remember that the price of LSD's/Phantom Grips is just for the piece itself. You will have to install it yourself, or have it installed. If you're asking this type of question, I'm going to assume that you are not going to install it yourself. It's not going to be a cheap in labor, just to let you know. If you're going to be spending money, I'd go with a higher quality one.

OEM Honda, if you're not making huge power numbers. Or Quaiffe for anything else. Do a search for OBX's LSD. Lots of mixxed opinions, some saying it's just like Quaiffe, some saying it doesn't fit right, etc. Do some research.
