Default dual headers?

what do you guys think if you had 2 of the exhaust header pieces come into one pipe and thesame on the other side(yes im talking about a 4 cyl.)for a true dual exhaust from the headers bask, just an idea.

why not just go the distance and do the quad exhaust!

if not that, maybe some diesel stacks or side pipes like old muscle cars!

It would work, just not as well as a four into one or a four into two into one.You would give up half of the scavenging pulses.

needing backpressure is a myth. you don't need it.

thats why when you run your 4 individual pipe "quad header" you make each one of them out of 1/4" tubing, so you'll have efficient back pressure

You do need a certain amount of backpressure on a driveable street car

just to clarify, i was being sarcastic. the whole 'backpressure" issue has been discussed to death, so if you really still belive that your engine needs backpressure, please do a search or google exhaust gas velocity vs. backpressure

so there would be no issues and it would be okay to do this exhaust setup?

not likely. if it yeilded gains there would be people running simular setups. there are reasons for the pairing of the primaries. some light reading for yah compliments of burns stainless....http://www.burnsstainless.com/....html

back pressure and velocity are 2 different things ,
you DO NOT need back pressure , velocity on the other hand is a good thinkg to have . back pressure is a restriction and doesnt allow for the best flow . a properly design header with the right size of piping will not only be efficient but will have good velocity for good scavenging .

if im wrong please correct me

I think I used the key word, yup I'm sure I did.It had something to due with pulling the spent gasses out of the port and helping pull the air/fuel in.Yup that was the word.
