Headers/exhaust hangs too low
Hello Honda-tech, I'm posting this because I was trying to see if there is a way I can have my exhaust closer to the body, specially the headers. Even though I am not completely slammed, as I ride right now I scrape what seems to be the connection between the headers and the exhaust a lot. I was wondering if you guys had any recommendations on if I should get new headers/exhaust/hangars, or if this is as good as it gets.
'mods':
4-2-1 Megan headers
Full Magnaflow exhaust system (cat delete, has a resonator)
Last owner said this set up was professionally installed
Thanks.

Re: Headers/exhaust hangs too low
That is the worst packaging on a 4-2-1 header I've ever seen. Why are the runners stacked up? Megan must have been hormonal when she welded that thing. Eh?
Raising it up or watching where you're going are options. But hey. Sometimes you gotta just ride low and smash into things anyway.
Your car isn't that low though. You may need to work on driving technique. Don't try to follow that land cruiser through Botswana, for example.
Edit: nevermind....its pretty low. The wheel gap isn't that small, but those tires are. So we're back to raising it up or looking at the road. It's located outside the windshield.

Yes. We understand that you're scraping the crap out of it because you're trying to look cool. Raise the car up, take it to an exhaust shop and have it modified, or live with it.

I do it because I like how it looks, I don't mind if people think it's cool or dumb. Thanks for your input.

You shouldn't even have to ask a question like this. This should've been common knowledge and understanding that if you lower your car to the ground then there are consequence and you'll have to deal with it your own way.

This is why I left from Honda-Tech, because instead of people being happy to help and share their knowledge, they throw everyone down. Thanks for your input, it really helped.

Help with what? To pay for your exhaust custom work? If your **** is scraping because you wanted to lower your car to look good than its..........like.........obvious that your exhaust system needs refitting. What were you really looking for is my question to you.

Re: Headers/exhaust hangs too low
Cut up your exhaust with a sawzall and duct tape it together. Obviously this is a joke, it needs to be welded.
this is a prime example of why custom exhaust is best exhaust

Re: Headers/exhaust hangs too low
I have no idea what you said on your first paragraph. And I didn't explain myself right, I wanted to say that I scrape it when I go over some speedbumps (and yes I know how to drive over one, I don't take it straight on). Thanks for your response, i'm just not sure what you meant on the first paragraph.
The header you have is weird. 4-2-1's usually have the runners side by side for ground clearance. Ground clearance is one of the reasons one buys a 4-2-1. Unless that's a 4-1?

Or he could stop being a tool and raise his car a hair. That's the actual tech answer to this question. If OP insists on staying stupidly low, he should scamper over to the appearance forum - he'll fit right in with the stancetards there.

Re: Headers/exhaust hangs too low
i would have to agree with the majority here. my car used to be about the same height as yours currently sits, keyword being used too. A couple of bad potholes and some misplaced rebar in the road made me think otherwise. Raised the car, got it realigned, and ordered some replacement headers and the issue is fixed. The only fix that comes at the right price of free is going to be to raise, if money is no issue then custom exhaust setup is the next option IMO.
