Default Rocket Motorsports M22 advice.....HELP PLEASE

I recently got me some Rocket Motorsports M22x cams........

I thought i was going to be able to put them in my ls/vtec this weekend.........not sure now.

I have a first gen 16 head. I recently found out that i wont be able to use these cams with these LMAs. Ive also heard that they recommend getting new rocker arms.

CAN ANYONE CONCUR? IS THIS TRUE?

What should i do? What LMAs do i need to use? New rockers as well?

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1401412

THANKS FOR ANY HELP

New LMA's for sure. Stock rockers are fine though. I have stock rockers on M24X cams.

Any particular LMA you recommend? Or just any b series LMA newer then the first gen b16?

What do you use?

I believe brad at rlz can mod your old ones, or you can buy new itr or gsr lma's, or use the prelude lma's with a shim washer, or you can buy a set of my gsr lma's i have fs

you'll need new LMA's cause the gen1 b16's are too small

i'm currently running prelude LMA's with washers from EKhatch and so far so good

I used stock LMA for a while now , no problems. Managed to run 11.80 @ 113 mph with a LS v-tec with ctr pistons (81mm) and some M22's !
Stock head NON ported.

PM ROCKET or email him and ask him directly.

I personally ran my 1st gen b16 head to 9700rpms, it has stock LMAs and stock rockers, both 14 years old.

I had RM valvetrain and M22X camshafts.

Stock rocker arms are fine. They just need to be inspected if they have a lot of mileage.

There have been many instances where 1st gen b16 LMA's have caused major problems. You will find them if you search. Rocket isn't the only one to bring this up, Omniman has talked about this as well as many others. Its not guaranteed to cause a problem, but the risk is greater.

I don't have a lot of time to search, but I think they have some discussion about it on this thread: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=566420
IIRC, there was a thread on RM that described this in detail. We might have to get Rocket open it up. I will try to get back to this thread when I have more time.

Not to hijack the thread, but can someone verify the part number for the Prelude LMAs to be 14820-PCB-003? Thanks.

Dan
