Hi, I just got a 92 civic vx hatch. And I was going to do a tune up on it. When I went to take out the sparkplugs, on one of them the little rubber boot at the end of the spark plug boot is stuck. So the long boot came out but the rubber end is stuck down the hole around the nut of the plug. My question is can I take the valve cover off with the plug still in the head? I tried taking it out with a screwdriver and a long nose but no luck. Just wondering if I can access the plug with the valve cover off, does the plug hold the cover on?
Thanks
Thanks
you can take out the cover it will help, making the distance shorter. if you can try cuttting the boot with a small knife, one that you can fit in there. good luck!
just put the socket back onto the spark plug and then push down on the socket firmly and then wiggle the socket back and forth with a slight upwards motion, that should make it come off. it won't matter if you take the valve cover off or not, those holes are the same length without the valve cover on or pretty close to the same length
wait, i just realized that you may be talking about the spark plug wire. if that is the case, i've had that happen a couple of times and i had to get a pair of vice grips or needle nose and then pull it out. you will need to buy new wires if that is what happened.
