well the problem persits and never ending no vtec other than in 1st gear what could be the problem? thanx adam

yea mate check the oil...not enuf or no oil = no vtec.

hope it comes good and that is/was the problem cheers..

Ok, check your wiring. Then you can also check if the solenoid works. "Use a wire and touch the one end to the + battery post and then to the solenoid wire. You should be able to hear a distinctive click." I got this from another post made by Kamin. He was having the same problem and that was one of the troubleshooting techniques he used.

did you check the speedometer cable?? that's the main reasons vtec doesn't work on pre vss cars
