How do I tell what year my motor is?
I need to find out what year my motor is so I can order a obd2-1 conversion harness.
The car is a 93 SI with suposedly a 00 or 01 LS and a 00 GSR tranny. The werid thing about my car is that it is currently running obd2. I need to figure out which jumper harness I need to convert to obd1, weither I need the one for 96-99 or 00-01. I dont want to get one for a 2000 and find out its actually a 99

It is an aftermarket ECU. My friend Jeff took a look at it and said that he thought the ECU was OBD2 also.....maybe I should go look at that too.....
Ok searched somore and went out and pulled my heat sheild and found a stamp that said 9/8 so does this mean that the motor is a 99?

there should be a stamp on the head of the motor</TD></TR></TABLE>
Almost all the threads I have read say that there head says lets say 96 but there car and motor are actually 97s......not that it matters because that still puts my motor in the 96-99 category.
Here is the ECU that my car is currently running, I just pulled it out and took thes a sec ago. says P75?

and the brand....I know nothing about this ECU

P75 is a LS ecu. But really theres no way to tell the ecu without looking at the plugs. Show us that and we could tell you what ecu your running.
The thing about the head is the stamp is what the motor is then it was put in a newer car. Like 93 into 94, 96 into 97. atleast thats what i think it is.

if theres nothing between those plugs and the ecu, you're running an obd1 ecu. the head year stamp is usually a year behind the car's model year. most likely, you have a 99 LS motor.

I dunno those plugs go directly into the ECU so I guess that would make my ECU obd1? I dont see any conversion harness any where.....maybe my friend was mistaken or the stock harness was spliced some where? im confused now lol My friend Jeff that told me that would be Jeff owner of homemadeturbo.com who is a mechanic and honda finatic....

Champion's Biotch!! lol
Well what ever was done to the car apparently its running OBD1 so I shouldnt have a problem running a chipped OBD1 ECU. Would I be able to chip this Jet ECU for my turbo LS project or is it pretty much rendered usless as far as that goes?

If you open it up and show me the insides i could tell you if you could get it chipped or not.
I Think its already chipped though since its a company ecu type thing. If it is you might be able to just run a new bin.
