My idle air control valve is messed up or the harness. I replaced my old IACV with a new one. Idles very high at 1.5 k and when I drive and let off the throttle the rpms climb to about 4k. I checked the throttle cable and its not tight. I unplugged the IACV and the idle rpms drop to 800 rpms. When the the harness is plugged in im not getting any codes and the idle jumps to 1500 rpms. I adjusted the idle screw on the TB and it doesnt get any better that 1300rpms. If i drive with the IACV hooked up the RPMs will climb to 4 K if i dont give it gas Any suggestions?

I don't know what to tell you. You might want to try getting a new one. It simply sounds like a malfuncitoning valve.

 

i have a IAC valve for sale. it's in MINT condition with only 20k miles on it.

50 bucks it's yours!

 

i put a new IACV on. There are no vaccum leaks. I think there could be a short in the harness. Also will a non functioning IACV have any ill effects when driving, or only at Idle?
