idle problems when cold engine.....
my 92 si wit ls motor is having idle problems.....when i first start it it idles up and down...then after it warms up it idle stays high around 1500-1800rpm...i turnt down the idle screw on the tb all the way and i messed wit the dizzy and no help....can anyone tell me what my prob might be.

Your problem is the valve on the bottom of the throttle body. It's the idle air control valve and it's a very common problem. You can replace the unit itself (be sure to replace the TB gasket too) or you can upgrade to an Integra TB (also a new gasket).

Sometimes flushing it (the IACV) with a good intake cleaner will help, too. Make sure you're adjusting everything correctly, too.

hey i just adjusted the valve under the throttle body...and when i started it with the engine cold it idled fine...no more surging idle.....but after it warmed up the idle went back up...now i gotta clean the iacv.....or get a new one...thanks honda-tech.....
