No it can be dropped out the bottom. Just undo all four motor mounts, wiring and hoses and jack the car up real high so it can be dropped out the bottom.

no. You will need b series axles, motor mounts, and shift linkage.

You will also have to wire up vtec, and get a b16 ecu.... and if you are dpfi you will have to convert to mpfi.

use the search.. i bet you can find a how-to.

Just rent a cherry picker. Maybe $20.

by taking the bolts and nuts out that hold it to the head. And some extensions and swivel joints for the ratchet

Its not hard to take it out from above....its easier to lift the engine out of the car than lift the car over the engine.....IMHO. I've only done it about a dozen times on mine. But you can do it eithe rway....you can get the mani off with engine in...the rear support is the hardest part.

to drop that engine out all u need to do is take the axles out take the crossmember off....and drop it from the bottom ...its easy...and to put the b16 in ...take the front bumper support off and bumper for more room put the b16 in the engine bay on the floor...either from the top or bottom.....bolt the tranny on and put shift linkage in.....and then take a hyrolic jack...pick the b16 up like 5 inches...and jack up the b16 and manuever it around untill it fits bolt it back up.....and put everything back on and everything together

Dont forget to dent the **** out of the Drivers side fender wall where the alternator will touch if you don't run a shorter belt.
(Make it easy on yourself and clearance that part. No sense in not doing it when the engines out.)

I Dropped the whole cradle out through the bottom, very easy to do. Only thing that got me cursing was getting the steering column knuckle hooked up again. Something about working in a cramped underdash area that doesn't make me happy.
Good Luck
