ok i had this problem ever since i bought my car n today i finally remember to post i on honda-tech

my thermostat on my 00gsr doesnt reach the half way point. it only goes slightly above 1/4. i am wondering if this is my car n my thermostat is messed or if its like that on ur tegs too. i thought it might be broken n some guy was like no ur radiator is just working real good.

 

It shouldn't reach the midpoint, a tad above 1/4th is normal.

 

Do you have a picture of how far it goes up? Is it closer to the 1/4 mark than it is to the halfway mark?

If it's very low, you may not even have a thermostat. Did you look?

are u sure. ive been told that it SHOULD reach half way up as normal operating temp.

ill see if i can get a pic tomorrow..i dont wanna warmup my car at 10:30pm
i am pretty sure i do have a thermostat. when i first start the car its on cold. it slowly rises to the above 1/4 point n then stops. when my car got wrecked n it was being driven home n smokin a little the meter went up but never reached past 3/4 point

 

I've never seen my DA hit the half way mark.
Thats all i'm saying.
