Default need more power from my turbo d

Hey,

I have a completely stock d16y7 engine with a IHI turbo kit. I was wondering if I wanted more power, would injectors, forged pistons and rods be safe for my engine to run at 14psi? Im not really familar with anything about turbos, thx alot.

yes
you could probably run more if you get some low compression pistons

No point in getting pistons and rods if you have stock injectors. The stock pistons and rods can handle more power than your stock injectors can fuel for.

O really thx, ryan i was wondering how much you spent total for your setup? and should i just save my money for a b18 transplant instead of fully building my turbo d. Thx

building a d series for power is sweet
one of my friends has a built d series and his best so far is 12.26 with 22inch slicks

the only problem is the trannies are very very week

he has already broke 2 trannies and hes only raced 2 nights

so basically everytime he hits the track he blows a tranny

the tranny is the only thing holding me back from building my d series

Just build the D. It'll be cheaper and more reliable than a stock B18.

What is he blowing in the tranny? Normally just the differential is the weak link.

B trannies aren't any stronger than a D, not to mention they cost about 5 times as much. I have always powershifted my D trannies and have never had problems from just beating on it.
