Default blitz dd bov, mine sounds different... why?

ok so everytime I've heard a blitz dd blow off valve it sounds fluttery. and it has kind of a honking noise to it. mine is virtualy silent. it makes a little fluttery noise at low boost like 3-4 psi. but after that it just sounds like straight air and it's quite. I've adjusted the allen screw in the top of the bov through all ranges and I don't get much different of a sound. i guess my question is are these guys modifying this blow off valve somehow to make them sound this way?? let me know thanks!

The flutter is actually not good. It means the valve is opening and closing meaning either it's extremley low boost (your case) or their is a vaccum problem.

that's strang because I hear supra's and rx7's flutter like hell when they equip this bov. They don't seem to concerned

you can also time it right if you don't let your foot off the gas completely. I "can" make mine flutter, but I choose not to because it better for the air to be evacuated.

I bet you were hoping yours would sound like a supra's BOV like a lot of people...well the news is it won't because of the size of the engine and different amount of air rushing by.

The k1 attack h22a turbo on there web site flutters like hell. even when wide open throttle. I'm running an sc-61 at 12psi, should'nt mine sound somewhat similar on almost an idential platform? Hell I've even heard a del sol b18 on 9psi flutter like crazy. I've asked everyone localy why it is and they said to try both fittings and to also adjust the valve. I did both and its still quite..... ??? Im confused

there are 2 springs.. one for 18psi and under... one for 18psi and above... the 18psi and above flutters, the lower one just sounds like a woosh

i have the same bov in 93 eg w/a b18c. i kind of modified it a little bit buy commpressing the spring with a nut and a washer. It's got the woosh sound at low boost and it flutters at higher boost. It sourt of sounds like the supras.

I think mine is doing the same thing, but I think it's opening late.

Between shifts I don't hear it until I'm almost about to go back into the throttle. When it does sounds its move of a long wooosh sound instead of a quick whoosh.

Mine on a turbo d16 will only flutter slightly if I lift my foot off the gas partially....other than that, it is a very loud whoosh whip cracking sound.

Can someone send me to a link with a diagram and tell me how to adjust my BOV?

I bought mine used from another member. I think he was running a pretty beefy setup and he probably has one of the heavier springs in it.
