Default What is wrong with my Tranny?

Here's the problem; shifting from 2nd to 3rd it grinds really bad, unless i shift below 2k. And if the car is standing still and i try to shift from 2nd to 3rd it will either feel like i'm hitting a wall or like if something is bent. I think it might be syncros, but I don't think it would act weird if the motor isn't even on.

Its the forks...so it looks like i might just go ahead and buy another tranny.. instead of rebuilding
