people with headers w/2.5" collecters. which donut gasket?
the title is pretty self explanitory. i have a header with a 2.5" collecter, it didn't come with a donut gasket. and i need one. only problem is i don't know which one to get. i went to 2 auto parts stores, and they looked, but it didn't do much good. the best i could find is 2.5" inner diameter donut gasket, but it won't fit because the pipe is 2.5" inner diameter, so i guess it needs an extra 1/32nd or an 1/8th.
Honda dealership is the best place, Legend or S2000 works perfectly.
Every place local I went had nothing that big.
BTW, search - https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1363997

hi, i'm bringing this thread back because i got the s2000 gasket, and it dosn't work, its ID is big enough, but the gasket itself is too small, its just like a small ring. its not big enough to sandwich bettween the header flange, and the cat flange. its not a regular type of donut gasket. does anyone know if i got the right part. or where i can get what i need?

Doesn't sound like it. What was the part number, and can you post a photo?

JDM DC or JDM ITR gasket will work..
I thought S2000 was 2.5" too, but I guess not? I swear I have used one before...
PS pennywise fullcircle is a great old album

the s2000 gasket is is big enough around that it fits over the pipe(btw is there a name for the bit of pipe that goes past the flange on the header) but its just like a ring, someone said the one for the acura legend, so i found a pic of that and its the same thing
see, it just a ring, its big enough around, but it dosn't sandwich bettween the flanges, i'm thinkin its not the right part. i'll see if i can find a jdm type r gasket online i guess, any othe suggestions incase that don't work?

that is exactly what i'm looking for, where did you get it? whats it off of? i went to the honda dealer and asked for that gasket, that pic is what they gave me. i said a donut gasket for an s2000, is there another name for it or what?
that ring is not the donut gasket you're looking for (obviously). that is the gasket that goes AFTER the cat, connecting to the your cat-back exhaust. The real donut gasket you want is the one that goes before the cat, not after. Be sure to tell them that when you go buy it again. Except there is no part number (atleast for my civic) for that part. I had to go to Honda to get it and I got it for $10, through employee pricing.
ok, now at least i know thats not what i needed. so anyway, i'm gonna try to order it again, do i just ask for a donut gasket for an s2000? cuz i'm afraid they will order the wrong parts again. and any parts ordered are pre pay no refunds. so i never saw it before i paid or i would have told them its the wrong part

Sure there is. For the 2.5" variety, either of these will work:
Honda S2000 - 18229 PCX 003
Acura Legend - 18229 SPO J51
SMSP also offers a 2.5" gasket, and is normally less expensive than the dealer.
