look for the code on the front of the block, near ur header plate. Looks like either MPFId D15b2 or b7 or a D16A6 which is a stock Si motor.

okay... my dad replaced the motor a few years back.. and he said it wasnt the stock one.. i dont know
but the intake manifold is MPFI.. and if i remove that header plate will it the engine code be stamped on the
engine block.. becuz i heard that only on jdm motors and SOME usdm motors the engine code is stamped
but do i have to remove that header plate ?? or is that my header ?? lol sorry for being a amature..

oh and also..wut if it does have vtec ? or can you guys tell already that its a non vtec motor ?
you dont have to remove anything. just look to the left of the header there will be a small flat spot with numbers stamped in it. it might be caked with grease though.

yeah.....i have a D16a6 and i am going to put on a D16y8 head....which is V-tec.....you can use the D16a6 distributor and all u have to do it keep the stock harness and get it wired for vtec.....and then get a Pr4 ecu and then get a VAFC.....and just make it read vtec...the easiest way it to take it to a shop and have them wire it....or if u want e-mail me at risnermem@netzero.com and i send you a write up on it....or catch me on AIM.....kid4life4eva
