Synthetic is always better if you can afford it. Lasts a lot longer, makes more power, lubes better, etc... I am currently using 10w-30 Mobil 1.

oh ok so if i decide to get synthetic or not. its going to be 10w-30 either way. i heard of why synthetic is better, but i didnt know it makes more power. thats cool. how many quarts does the 5th gen lude take? assuming you have one.

the 5th gen takes about 5qts with filter change...once you go synthetic, there's no turning back (to conventional). Royal Purple or Mobil1 = but i think Royal Purple last longer.

I don't know who thought that up out of thin air one day but it is totally not true I went from regular to synthetic and back to regular and no problems at all.

^^if youre going with 10-30, you might as well use 5-30. Make it a little easier on your motor at startup.

I use 5W-30 because it says to right on your oil cap.

OEM specs are never wrong
