Default redline?

i got a 92 integra with a b16 but the damn thing redlines at 7500, and i think thats pretty messed up since my friends civic redlines at 82 and hes got a b16 wiuth cold air intake so i duno if i needa reset my ecu or wut i need sum help

sounds like you have an automatic ECU or something weird like that. i swapped my 240 using an automatic engine and harness commanded by a manual ECU and harnessed by a manual transmission. saved some money only to spend more time sorting through wires and problems.

it has nothing to do with ur motor and u friend with the same motor and having a intake,go out have someone chip ur ecu and u can redline at what ever u want

correct. changing your redline is not something that should be taken lightly. perhaps the ECU is restricting redline for some other reason. i've heard of similar problems with GSR's so maybe you should do some diagnostics before you go an try to tell the ECU what is best for the engine.

unless you had an ECU change I would say your Tach is off, which is VERY normal. You are probably hitting fuel cut which is bad if you do this a lot

yeah, but the tach always reads high, not low. at least i've never seen one read low. every car i've been in reads high.
