Default some **** happened this morning with my motor

Well it was raining hard as hell today and i had a morning class to go to, and i kno my way around town pretty well, but every street in my city is pretty much flooded and while i was driving on a main street, i saw a big *** puddle so turned into a neighbor hood trying to find my way around, as i drove, I drove into a Big puddle, but it seems as if it wasn't so deep. My hood was pretty much inthe water, so i tried to reverse out but my car wouldn't budge, i paniced and rev up a lil bit higher. Eventallyi got out and my heart was pounding scared that my motor was dead, i pulled over the side and its still pouring hard, i had to sit and collect my self, i saw light smoke coming from my hood so i drvoe home and here i am. Are there any signs that my motor is fucked? or damaged? I really can't tell if water got in it, when i opened my hood, there was water all over my engine bay. Plz help me guys, this day is so fucked up man!

your motor is probably ok. no harm done if your distributor didnt get wet. and with a stock intake i doubt that you could've ingested water unless the hood was actually 6" from being entirely submerged. the steam you see probably is the water being steamed off? and your engine is hot? if things are wet then you should probably let the engine dry off somewhere. as for electric issues...ehhh. bump for that. but does the engine run differently? any odd noises? check engine light? is the car lowered?

my car is lowered, In the rain my car felt weaker than normal driving home, but i guess that it was just the rain, once things dry up, imma check it out, i didn't notice check engine light on, and i couldn't hear any noises cuz it was rainin cats and bitches. Im still shaking from what just happend 40 mins ago..

I would say you did nothing but give your hot header a bath and it steamed that water right off. With a stock air box you should be just fine man

If you would have sucked water in you engine and Hydro locked it the car would not be running. I had a friend that did that with a cold air intake. The motor was frozen all the rods were bent. But it sounds as if you should be okay and not have any issues.
