I've seen blown '34 fords with the open sides of the motor compartment. I think the rule of thumb is; if a domestic does it, it's fine, if an import does it, it's illegal. Try it and prepare to go to jail, pay fines, and have your car impounded

having no hood on your car gives the officer a "founded suspicion" of a stolen car. That means the ofc is in his legal right to stop and detain you for as long as he reasonably needs to until he determines the car is not stolen. Yep handcuffs and all. Usually around 45 minutes or so. Then he probably would just issue a civil demand, or ticket, for unsafe vehicle when the car isnt stolen... not a good idea
btw I work for the DA

oh yeah but he wouldnt let you drive it home. if hes nice hell let someone bring the hood from where ever it is and you can bolt it there on the side of the road. Usually he will tow it.

He's going to think that hood is Really cool when it chops him in half in an accident.
The company that sells them specifically states that they are NOT for use on the road, just for show.

k.. my def:

niggish- when one drives w/ the seats so far back, its almost horizontal to the ground, right hand @ 12 oclock on the wheel, all you can see is their head peeping above the windowline, they stare at you like they're hardcore and rulers of the road and wear all that blingbling jewelry.. and some other funky traits that set them apart from normal drivers..

is acrlic really that strong? that it'll go through the window?
my carbon fiber (fiber images) didn't kill me in my accident.
his hood seemed lighter than mines.
whats acrylic compared to carbon fiber?

I saw a guy today rolling around in a black mustang GT with no hood. It sounded pretty mean, it certainly got my attention.

Acrylic, especially in the thickness sho-em makes them, is far less brittle than carbon fiber. And yes, there is a good chance of the hood(or portions of it) making it through the windshield.

There is NO LAW that says it is illegal to drive without a hood! However, that wont stop an officer from pulling you over... as with the millions of occurances where an officer pulls someone over for nothing...
