Default UGR cam gears

Ok I'm trying to choose a pair of cam gears for my new setup.

Basically it has boiled down to either Golden Eagle or UGR.

Ugrs can been seen here: here

The ugr gears are basically copies of the toda gears, and are only $120. The golden eagle gears are $185.

Does anyone have experence with the UGR cam gears? I've been reading past threads and some people say the timing marks on the ugr's are off, but I think they are refering to the other type ugr makes.

Here is a link to the "other type": here

And here is a link to the old thread I was talkin about: here

Is it worth the extra money to get the PROVEN GE gears? I'm not going to be constantly adjusting the gears, i just cant decide if I should spend the extra money.

Any input would be awesome, thanks

id stay away from ugr cam gears. my friend got a set, and one of the middle pieces wasnt machined right, causing the gear to wobble a good bit when the motor is idling because one of the 6 mounting points wasnt flush with the other 5. I doubt theyre all like that, but thats my experience

Since you said 6 bolts im assuming you were using the skunk2 style ones aswell. I wonder if the 4 bolt desgin (toda style) suffer from similar problems?

Rocket had some good things to say about the cam gears themselves, I think he's gonna make a thread on his final conclusion.

well I'm back from the bay area and it was a great experience for the UGR line. i met alot of great people and went to alot of great shops.they customer service out there was great and the demand for the tuner cars was on demand. i wanted to thank some people out there that i met and let you know that if you are in the bay area come see these shops and they will take care of you with anything you need.
Paris at DnR performance,Jeremy at red zone (cool shop mann!) , Ben chase and Rich Deans at Speed Merchants,Navid Kahangi at Extreme performance, and Edward Ramones at Motorsports Dynamics. Thank you for your time and support with the UGR line. thanks to the other local shops i visited and the support they gave me too!i will be in the bay area again in 2 to 3 weeks and i will visit more shops and enjoy the hospitality. thanks again and hope to hear from you guys soon! Erik
P.S thanks for showing me around Paris.
