my tie rod crown bolt wont come lose it just spins the whole ball joint.any ideals on how to break it lose.i have tried losen it with a load,i have tried holding the tie rod still didnt lossen up just spins.someone please give me a hand here

 

borrow/rent an electric impact wrench. itll come out easily then.

then buy an 10x1.25 tap and die set and chase the threads on the castle nut and balljoint to save your tie rod and castle nut. although i recommend just buying a new castle nut.

 

tried it it was a bad *** air impact,the ball jonit did nuttin but spin really fast.

 

well, if youre really desparate, you can try two things.

cut a slot at the tip at the bottom of the threads, and then use a screwdriver to hold it in place while you wrench it out.

if that dont work, then just saw it off....

 

What happened with my tie rod end was that the bottom part with the castle nut actually seperated from the top part. So I ending up taking off the top part and then clamping the bottom and unscrewing.

ight guys i got it off i hit the balljoint seperator to hold to ball joint and it held it enough so i can spin the nutt lose.thanks for the replys and suggestions.
