Default QUESTION ABOUT MOTOR

i'm planning to buy a motor. i saw a d16a but it says 96 and up. would it fit onto a 92-95 eg? or would it fit but the obd wont be the same. thanks.

If it's a 96+ motor, you would need an OBD1-OBD2 conversion harness... along with the ecu of course. I've never done a conversion like that, but as many ads as I see on this site for conversion harnesses, I'm sure it couldn't be too hard. It's sounds like its PnP. Anyone care to elaborate?

why not just switch over all the sensors and stuff from the obd1 motor to the obd2 motor to make it work??? obd2 computers suck.. why make a car obd2????

thats what i would do... swap injectors idle air controll valve.... map tps.. dizzy... water temp... everything just swap it over

oh, but there is a d16a out there that is obd1 right? is it harder to go from obd1 to obd0 and is obd0 good?

you want to be obd1 for ease of install and potential tuning purposes. the obd1 single cam vtec was the z6 (d16z6), obd2 was y8. Try to find a z6 if you can.
