Default Idle Drop Problem K20A Type R

I am just noticing something...Whenever I would come close to a stoplight, and step on the clutch...the RPM drops below normal Idle level to about 500rpm...the engine and car shakes a bit and then it immediately bounces back to idle.

This is not normal, does anybody have similar problem?

It is not normal.. A few people had this problem..

Most likely it is your IACV..

quoted from http://www.k20a.org
<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote"> actually just fixed my idle flutuation by coincidence.

..recap...i opened up my iacv and spary it wd40..but when i hooked everything up and start it up, the car would idle at 1500 for 1 min and still flutuates.. after that..my bro suggested to reset the ecu by disconnecting the neagative terminal..i did that for 20 mins and when i reconnect it back and fire up the car..all i was waiting for is for the idle to jump like it did for the last 2-3 days and to my findings..it idles perfectly...

**so if your idle is flutuating...
*cover the iacv port and listen for the pop(your idle should drop to below &lt;900)
*take throttle body out and disconnect the iacv and spry it with wd40/carb cleaner)
*put everything back and disconnect the negative termina for 10-20 mins
*******the above steps cured my idle flutuation***********

*disconnecting the negative terminal and reconnecting it back allows the ecu to learn the idle right away...it's also true what karcept did and drive it for 20 mins to let the ecu learn the idle..

</TD></TR></TABLE>

another possible reason could be your grounds.... Add another ground or make sure the ones you have are grounded correctly
