upgraded axles opinions
Looking for recommendations on axles that can handle 300-400hp and slicks without me having to worry about them breaking. I have looked at stage 2 setups from both hasport and DSS but want some opinions from people with experience. This is a budget build so I don’t want to get anything real expensive but I don’t want to snap axles all the time. The will be used on a 93 HB with a gsr.
EDIT Never mind search is working again and found my answer

DSS gets my vote BUT keep in mind that most aftermarket axles made for racing DONT come with a warranty because theyre used for racing. to me thats a lot of money to waste for no warranty. i personally like the autozone special cuz no matter how many times i break em i can always get another for free

People have run 10's on stock axles and maybe even faster than that. I agree with

Why are you having to upgrade the axles for that amount of horsepower. Pre load the axle correctly and the chances of breaking them are going to be slim... I know of people that have ran complete seasons on factory axles w/ 600 whp plus.. But if you are in need of performance axles the best way to go is the Drive Shaft Shop. Make sure that you go with stage 5 (bigger than you need for 300-400 whp), this will allow you to move up into them and you wont limit yourself... As for gator, people have good luck with them also... They only offer there axles in a stock hub setup though....
Thanks for all the input. I am starting to order parts to hopefully have the car ready for next year. I am on a tight budget and was making sure I would not have to do something twice. During my search I found many people using stock axles going faster then my current goals so I am going to use the stock ones until they break.
