what code for 88 crx si tranny?
search is down and i'm about to go buy a crx si tranny. just want to make sure that it is indeed from a si. what is the tranny code or what should the tranny be stamped? thanks in advance.
SI - PL3/3000
HF or DX - PL3/A000 or PL3/A100
21 splines should be 88, 20 for 89-91, also the input shaft should have 2 etchings on it, 1 for 89 and 0 for 90-91 ( could be backwards) someone correct me if im wrong,

see if it will shift into 5th gear - put a phillips screwdriver thru the hole in the shift sarm shaft that projects out of the transmission (where the shift linkage attaches) - turn the shift arm shaft all the way to the right (clockwise) and pull the shaft out - if it comes out, it is 5 speed - if you can't pull it out, it is 4 speed
