Default Need opinions of LS non V TEC

I was wondering how much potential a LS non V TEC integra has. I was Going to get a GSR but I found out that I could not handle the indurance anyways I was just wondering whatI can do to the LS, Swaps or anyhting for a good gain. THanks!

well you could by a ls and swap a gsr engine in and you would have the same car, with lower insurance, or you can build up the stock b18b and either turbo it or go NA, either way be prepared to spend some money, good luck

you'll wanna go turbo if u want speed --- and that is a fairly common route to speed

Well you can keep the LS bottom end and slap a GSR top end and that would give you some better HP gains.

I was just wondering how much more is the insurance on a GSR than a LS. yeah theres the ls/vtec route or the turbo route. you can go all motor but its alot of money and the gains i hear arent that much. but its up to how much power you realy want.

If you have the chance of doing it right from the begining, don't do the ls/vtec and forget building ur b18b block unless u want to put $$$.

Get a turbo kit, boost 7-9psi, you wont need to build your block, and you should put out at least 220 to the wheels if you do it even half-right.

for comparison:

Stock ITR puts out about 160hp to the wheels, GSR about 145 to the wheels, and LS about 120 to the wheels.

I give the LS a because my buddy in town can autox so close to my times its not even funny. I consider myself to be a good driver and I am sure he is a bit better.
Now, my GSR is heavily modded, his LS is not modded too much. He still is sooooo close to my times its scary... if he had fresher slicks than I did he would likely beat me, then how stupid would I feel

dont look down on the LS... it is just as good a platform for suspension and handling, the insurance is less, and they are easily modded to LS/VTEC monsters!
