what is a b pipe
im installing a b&m short shifter in my00gsr next week n i read some stuff bout doing something with a b pipe to get it on
also is there any way around taking off the cat/some of exhaust

thats a test pipe. the intermediate piping or "b-pipe" is what connects from the catalytic convertor to the axle back part of the exhaust system. you might just be able to move it over out of the way

A-pipe is the portion on the end of the exhaust manifold that is one piece, the collector.
Testpipe (a pipe in place of your cat) or your cat is next, whichever you have installed.
B pipe is the pipe AFTER the cat, from the flange at the outlet of the cat to the flange at the axleback.
Axleback, which is a bit misleading, is the pipe from the outlet of the bpipe to the tip of the muffler. This consolidated piece is called the axleback.

Sure if you wanted it to.
A testpipe isnt really anything other than a pipe instead of a cat.
So, if you wanted to, you could weld your downpipe right to your bpipe (if they were long enough) and "eliminate" the test pipe.
