Default D16y7 cam

I am thinking that I want a new cam for my d16y7, but I don't have a lot of money to spend. Is there a cheap way to go about upgrading my cam?

I have a D16Y7 man, and I'll tell ya, not many places sell a cam for the y7. For the power gain of a cam, even with the cost, its still worth it to get a Z6 or Y8 head (from a 95 Civic Si or a 96-00 Civic EX. They have VTEC cams, and i have seen some good ones for that head.

Will a d16y8 cam or d16z6 cam work in the d16y7 head?

Nope, but I believe there are 4 sources readily available for the D16y7. Crower, Zex, Gude, and Web Cams.

get a d16a6 cam, you may need an adjustable cam gear because the timing might be off but that is your best option without a head swap. d16a6 cams are slightly more agressive than any other oem sohc non vtec cams
