Default Injector o-rings

on my h22 (which is still on a stand) i have an str manifold. there are 2 kinds of o-rings, the hard plastic ones and the soft rubber ones. how do both of these fit on the bottom of the injector, and into the manifold? i can only fit one set of o-rings on there. are both of them supposed to go on there?

With the stock injectors, the hard plastic ring (the phenolic spacer) goes on the bottom closest to the manifold and the rubber o-ring goes on top. From what I have read, you can just ditch the stock phenolic spacers and grind out the rubber o-rings a little for a good fit. I am doing this right now with some rc 550's. Here is what I mean.

See, phenolic spacer won't fit so get rid of it b/c it doesn't do anything.

i see. so i don't need to use the hard plastic one at all? just put the soft rubber one in the manifold and plug the injectors in?

you do not want to get rid of these spacers, they serve a purpose, to remove heat from getting to the injector. the not 'getter dun' way would be go to someone with a press and have them punched out to size so they will fit, and then trim the oring

I was just going by what sgt and some other people said on this thread: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=133644&page=2

I actually ended up just grinding the spacers out with a dremel when I did the rubber o-rings. I figured might as well use them if I can easily make them fit. I just got the injectors and rail all installed today, but still haven't done the fpr. Everything seemed to fit sungly though.

honda designed it as a heat defuser, putting in metal spacers wont correct it, so yes, cutting the current spacer is the correct way to go

Did you have a problem grinding the rubber seals with a dremel? i did not even attempt to do the rubber seals. I'm having my dsm injectors machined to fit the stock seals, rather than try to dremel 8 seals all the same...

They all seem to fit fairly well. I ground them just a little at a time, while continuously test fitting them on the injectors. Like I said, I havent finished the whole fuel system yet, so I havent started the car up, but I don't anticipate any problems. If some of them leak, I will just go buy some more seals and try again.
