Hi I'm trying to fix my sisters 97 civic cx the speedo needle does not work. So I changed the vss sensor, but it didn't help the needle gets to 30kmh the gets stuck then other times the needle will work fine, its as if there is a faulty wire or sensor any ideas????

 

swap out the cluster with your own if possible or borrow someone else's and see what happens, Im guessing its a broken spring in the speedometer and you need to replace the unit. By swaping it out you'll eliminate that from faulty wiring.
