HARD TO SHIFT IN OR OUT OF GEAR
It all started the other day. I was racing and I let off the clutch to quick and grinded 3rd gear. Then I started to have problems get in and out of all gears. It doesn't strach or anything like that but man it is hard as heck to get in or out of gear. Does any one have any suggestions on what is wrong. Stock tranny, stock linkage B&M Pro Edge short throw shifter.
well, either your clutch is fucked, or you are just due for a fluid change. we need more info on the tranny. is it a stock clutch? when was the last time you changed the mtf? and that is what you get for having a short shifter, those put un-needed stress on our trannies which were not made for fast race shifting...
It is a stock clutch and stock b18c trannie. I just got the car a year ago and not sure when mtf was changed so I could probably start off there. And it is kind of selective because sometimes are a LOT harder to shift in and out then others and I don't think the clutch is bad becaue I just replaced the master and slave cyclinder about 9 month ago and they said the clutch looked good.
OMNI-POWER QUICKLUTCH CLUTCH MASTER CYLINDER! I've got the same problem... i can't get into gears it would be stiff *** hell, i have to rev match it in order to get into gears... This only happens when i'm in the high rpms... at low rpms i get into gear alot easier but still stiff!!! i just order a omnipower master cyclinder i heard it would fix the problem... and with a short shifter you definately need a performance master cylinder.... i also ordered a new shift linkage... imma try to see if it works if not than i would try to take out my tranny...
im having the same problems right now
some say its the clutch....
some say its the mtf......
well tommorw ima inspect the Clutch master cylinder and the Clutch Slave Cylinder make sure their not leaking and that it has fluid and then change the tranny fluid (gm synchromesh friction modified) then if nothing then its gonna be the clutch
you should try these same steps ill let u know how mine works out

yea, good thing is to get it inspected from a shop. They'll charge but it's a lot better to find what actual problem is before you change anything. Once you kno what it is, then buy that. Since there are so many things that can be wrong. Same thing happened to my GSR Tranny. I changed the clutch actually, it worked but it might not be the same for you. I also changed the slave/master cylinders for my clutch once before but that didn't really do anything for me but it's good since my car that time had 140K anyway. Though, now I have a brand new Type R tranny w/ LSD from the dealer
I love it! But yeah, I'd go with your clutch, depending on when it was changed last or if it has at all. Probably 85% of it being the clutch.
Also, let me say this, it might be true or not but short shifters will mess up your tranny. I forgot exactly why that is but I was going to put it on but some of the guys said I shouldn't mess with it. So I think you might be better off short shifter. Discuss w/ others though if I am correct or not. Good luck man

do these things, and tell me if it's difficult to shift or you get a grind in each case:
1) sitting with the car off, put it into third gear
2) sitting with the car on but still, put it into third gear
3) driving down the road at 20mph, engine idling, put it into third gear
4) shift from second to third at 20mph
5) shift from second to third at 45mph
tell me which of these situations cause a grind or diffucult shift and i'll tell you what's wrong.

yes, you must always fully depress the clutch in order to shift. if you want to be a three-pedal pimp like me, use your right foot to gas and brake at the same time. much better for the car than trying to clutch and brake at the same time.

Pretty Much they are all of them are not as easy as they should be. third is about the hardest and 2nd and Reverse are about the easiest.

You revved the engine high and now it's very hard to shift. Same thing happened to me at the end of my original clutch's life.
Problem is that either one of the clutch hub springs or a piece of metal near the spring comes out or gets dislodged and jammed in there somewhere, and prevents the clutch from fully disengaging, making it hard to move the shifter.
You'll have to replace at least the clutch disc. If you're still on the original clutch or it's been at least 50K miles I would probably just go ahead and change out the whole thing including the pressure plate. Make sure you replace the throwout bearing, and also you'll need to have the flywheel resurfaced, unless you'd like to change that out for a lighter flywheel also (which is what I did, also so I wouldn't have days of down time).
