thanks,cory

you might just have to get a diff compressor, try checker auto parts. got mine from there and worked fine on the front. The clamps might just be thinner on a different one.

you could put roughly about 80 zip-ties around the top and bottom coils , face the top into a trash can and wrench away... besure to wear safety goggles.... but you do so at your own risk. we did that once , it held but it was scary.
well, depending how much lower they are, you dont have to compress them, they just chill there until you put the car back on the ground. assuming its on jacks.

practically all lowering springs do. i can't name any that don't.

LOL. I love the cable ties idea... I had never thought of that.
to the thread poster: i own the same compressor from autozone, and i have used it on my 97 teg and it worked fine... i do remember it being a somewhat tight fit though. my advice is to just keep trying... or find another compressor
nothing beats having the right tools for the job

speaking from experience.....
if you aren't gonna use those springs, all u do is cut it off. That's what I did.
I took a grinder and cut the spring, took me about 30 sec....
Front ones are a bitch because of the upper control arm....just do that. I promise you'll save a lot of time and effort. Good luck
****OH YEAH, DO NOT DECOMPRESS THE SPRING WHILE IT'S STILL IN. OR DO NOT UNBOLT IT FROM THE TOP EITHER. YOU'LL BE SCREWED****

Just set it on the floor put your foot or it and loosen. The newer integras will go about 30-40 yards while the older accords and civics go about 10-15.
Or just take it to sears or something and have them take it off for a few bucks.

I just wrapped towels around mine when I swapped in some springs. It isn't really under that much pressure and is fun trying to predict which turn of the wrench is going to pop. Its kinda like when you open a can of bisquits, lol. Wrap the towel so the only thing sticking out is the little nut and shaft, and keep your foot on the spring. I did have to put considerable effort getting the 1.8 inch drop springs back in, so 1 inch drop springs you will probably need another person to start the nut back on while you compress the spring with your hands.
i have heard that the towel method works... the fronts didn't fit in my compressor from autozone...(but hey, its a free rental) i just used a few c-clamps to move it a little and had a few friends help hold it in place
I requested a short story for a title.

yes i lowered my 91 teg with that same thing from autozone. It is a huge bitch to get those little things inbetween the coils, but keep at it or try sprayin a little wd40 or something on it.
you wont need them for the new springs.
