Questions with tanny/clutch/ shifter moving while in gear.... help
So heres what i got:
92 hatch si
183,xxx on motor and tranny
I had a new ISB and exeddy clutch instuled about 5,xxx miles ago.
Everything seamed to be working until one day i heard that damn annoying sound again, ISB. It hasnt done it anymore, just once. Then gears were poping out or not engaging at all on a down shift under normal driving. Then i realized that sometimes when i shift normally, the rpms jump up when i engage the clutch. Yet another sign of a brand new clutch going bad.
Now, in 3rd and 4th gear, the shifter will move. Now i know your thinging that my bushings are warn. This is not moving left to right, this is back and forth under its own power. When im on the gas, its back in fourth gear, when i let off of it, the shifter "shifts" forward towards the front of the car still in 4th gear. I can keep doing this by tapping the gas. Last time i checked, its not supose to do that. Anyone with any ideas??? Possibly ISB instulled backwards. Tranny done. Its the clutch and i should just get a oem stocker and get rid of the aftermarket clutch?
Thanks H-T

That could be a possibility cause i beat on it after the break in period. Slamming second gear and shaking the hell out of the car. i stoped doing that though. When do you know that the mounts are bad. The engine/tranny moves to much. cracks on them???

Re: (dohcdelsol)
well you could just grab the engine and shake it and look for excessive movement, but i guess you wouldnt be able to tell unless you could compare the movement w/ a new civic.
