It could be a lot more damage than you think. Could have bent the control arm, or the steering rack. I'd probably have a collision specialist look at it, that way you know for sure what you need. That's why even as bad as it may sound, if someone is about to run you off the road, let them hit you, then it's on them. If they don't make contact with you and you screw your car up, it's all on you.

First of all you don't have rear axles. Second it depends what all pieces are damaged. It might just be a bent wheel. It could be strut-spring perch or mounting spots. Could be lower suspension.
For the front it could be a lot of things as well. Post pics of this and it might help.

You should have let him run into you doing it as safe as you could and that way it would have damaged both sides. Plus it would be his fault. More money in the end.

Anyways that sucks to hear.

well i had the car towed to the car dealership i work at, but i dont think the rims are bent, sratched YES....but i can live with that because this is only my daily driver....the paint on the bumper corner is scratched and the sideskirt but that i can get taken care of for free....but im sure ill need an alignment and as far as describing the bak wheel....i can say its not bent very severly...the top is bending out sumwat out the fender side....so on an angle like this ///, and yes it is the rear passenger side wheel....as far as letting the guy hit me...its just reaction to avoid an accident, my sister said the same thing...y didnt u let him hit u

next time let him side swip you that way you are off of the hook. You busted the upper bushing on the strut tower in the rear at the minimum and you may have even messed up the unit body back there. It will cost between 250 and 3K to fix depending upon what is all messed up

actually, in my humble opinion, you are all wrong...and this mentality is responsible for why insurance rates are so rediculously high these days...it's this mentality that jacks up the insurance rates nation wide...also, for his own safety, it's better that he avoided the accident and hit the curb...ALWAYS AVOID THE ACCIDENT WITH ANOTHER CAR!...

and finally, by avoiding the accident and police, an accident report wasn't filed meaning that his selling price of the car will be higher than it would had he not avoided the accident...also, damage to both sides of the car, as stated above, would likely mean a totalled car...damage to the rear wheel and some suspension bits (that are definitely replaceable) mean that the final cost to whomever is less than that of an accident...

and by the way, my signature applies to this post...

nice try but think about this for a second. Guy wrecks his car due to someone else's stupidity and will have increased premiums that he has to pay because there is no one at fault other than him in the insurance company eyes. getting side swiped and having the drunk guy's insurance pay is better than payin out the rear for something that was not your fault.

I agree and I said safely let him hit you. I use that loosely but anyone who has been in a wreck can anticipate a side swipe. I don't even swerve when animals run in front of me because I do not want to hit the ditch or worse at 60 mph. I am awaiting the day someone sides into me. Screw premiums anyway they are all high and never getting lower.

Anyways, always use best judgement and remember no matter whos fault it is if the other guy is drinking it is automatically his fault.
